Stourport on Severn - War Memorial Park (Worcestershire)

Giant Redwood - August 2021

Thanks to Andy for this misty shot of a Giant Sequoia. It shows off its typical profile very well. He must know a thing or two about them because he wrote; "I was a Ranger in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park for a handful of years, living in Lodgepole for two seasons next to the Giant Forest. I now live in Stourport on Severn Worcestershire. I seem to always be finding Sequoiadendrum giganteum here in the UK! In Stourport there are 3 in War Memorial Park, also I know there are 2 or 3 in Shrawley Wood however I have yet to find them. I’ve come across a couple of random ones on the Wyre Forest near Bewdley, near Trimpley reservoir, and I believe there is one at Hartlebury Castle but it looks to be in fairly poor health."
