Longford - Village (Derbyshire)

Thanks to Jim for sending information about a Giant Redwood in Longford. Jim says, "This tree can be found at Longford village a short walk from Longford Hall Derbyshire. The photo was taken on a dull day, will get a better shot when it's a little brighter." Longford is about eight miles from Ashbourne and is built on an old Roman road, Long Lane, by the banks of a stream. It has houses, farms, a mill built by Joseph Arkwright in 1837, and Longford Hall. Longford Hall is a late medieval house that was Georgianised by Pickford in 1762 and restored after a bad fire in 1942.
