| This surprising find is in a small playing field which was surrounded by an old wall and iron gates. Not a particularly gigantic example but still a large tree for such a small park. Interestingly, the trunk splits into two about half way up, possibly as a result of damage by lightning or severe storm perhaps some forty or fifty years ago. The park is a marvellous haven in the midst of a busy town, a great place to sit and eat your sandwiches on a sunny day. |
